Rod and Carol are the parents of three children and have four dear grandchildren. Married since 1973 God guided them to plant a church in East Texas, return to California to pastor in Los Banos, and then serve with the North American Mission Board. Since retirement Rod has been teaching with the Divinity School at Liberty University. Rod and Carol have made mission trips to Guatemala Over the last sixteen years and are deeply grateful for the work God has done through Carlos and the team initiated under the work of Ted and Sue Lindwall who invested forty years in Guatemala.

My wife, Alise, and I have been blessed with 31 years of marriage, three wonderful children, and one beautiful grandson. For more than 30 years, I have worked as a union pipe fitter and currently serve as a Plumbing Superintendent and Estimator for Champion Industrial Contractors in Modesto, California. Since March 2020, I have also had the privilege of serving as Pastor of Oasis of Hope Church in Riverbank, California.

My journey in missions began over twelve years ago with my first trip to Guatemala. While helping weld and fabricate a new roof for an elementary school in San Lucas Tolimán, I witnessed firsthand how practical acts of service can make a lasting impact. The school's old roof was deteriorating, allowing rain to pour into the classrooms. Seeing the difference a simple construction project could make in the lives of teachers and students deeply transformed my heart.

Since then, I have been honored to participate in numerous mission projects throughout Guatemala, helping build chapels, Sunday school buildings, classrooms, pastors’ homes, and church conference centers. Beyond construction, our teams have also helped support the printing and distribution of hundreds of thousands of Bible booklets through a network of Christian pastors, teachers, and volunteers. These materials provide students with valuable biblical principles and, most importantly, introduce them to the love and salvation found in Jesus Christ.

It is a privilege to be part of what God is doing in Guatemala. I invite you to join us through prayer, giving, or serving as we continue sharing the hope of Christ and meeting practical needs in communities throughout the country.

These days, I live in San Antonio with my beautiful wife of 32 years, enjoying the blessing of our six grandchildren. I previously served as a deacon at Oasis of Hope Church in Riverbank, California, before moving to Texas. In 2021, I joined my first mission trip with G4N and God forever changed my heart, giving me a deep love for Guatemala. With a background in art and media, I now use my gifts in translation, photography, and storytelling, to share what God is doing through missions. I also host What Does the Bible Say on YouTube while leading weekly Bible studies at local coffee shops and Zoom.

Compliance Director

Jim Ransdell retired from two careers in construction work (first in California and the second in Texas). He is married to his wife Deb and they have four children and enjoy being grandparents. Jim and Deb are faithfully involved in the First Baptist Church of Seguin, Tx leading a couples Sunday School class, and Jim serves as a deacon in the church actively helping lead in the men's ministry. They are committed to the well-being of our nation and participate in the political arena to help influence God-honoring policies. Jim oversees legal compliance of G4N work.

International Coordinator

Dr. Sanchez serves as distinguished professor emeritus of missions in the Roy J. Fish School of Evangelism and Missions. Dr. Sanchez has taught at Southwestern for almost 40 years. Prior to his tenure at Southwestern, Dr. Sanchez served as a missionary in Panama, a church planter, and as the evangelism director and state missions director of the Baptist Convention of New York. He completed studies at Oxford, Fuller Seminary, and Southwestern Seminary and did his undergrad work at Howard Payne University. In his early seminary days, Dr. Sanchez served under Ted Lindwall, founder of G4N, in Guatemala as a missionary intern. Dr. Sanchez has published in both Spanish and English in Missiology and Theology. In addition to his writings, he has lectured and taught in numerous countries in central and south America, Europe, and Asia. He is married to Tamera and they attend Meadowridge Church in Fort Worth.

(VBS) Vacation Bible School Director

I never expected to ever go on a mission trip. As a homeschool mom in a single income family, my initial mission field was my family. Becoming a born-again believer as an adult, I was learning all about the Bible alongside my own children. When my family began sponsoring children with Compassion International, I had an opportunity to travel to Mexico for the first time and see firsthand how the church is working in communities to provide hope in this world because of Jesus. In 2023, I was able to join the Guatemala for the Nations team for the first time on a trip to the Coban region. What a challenge! It is so different to plan and organize VBS in a country outside of the USA. As a recovering type A person, this is a way that God has been molding me to be more flexible and relinquish control over situations I have no control over. I love to travel and these trips give me an opportunity to work with a team to find VBS lessons, crafts, games, and songs to share the love of Jesus with children in Guatemala.

Construction Coordinator

Raymond Bargas and his wife, Kaylee, have been married for 10 years and are blessed with four wonderful children. Since 2014, they have faithfully served the Lord through Off The Cross Ministries, teaching Bible studies and leading children’s church ministries.

In 2023, Raymond answered God’s call to join Guatemala for the Nations (G4N). After witnessing firsthand how God is transforming lives throughout Guatemala, he developed a passion for serving communities through practical ministry and construction projects.

Today, Raymond serves as Director of the G4N Construction Team, overseeing projects that provide roofs for churches, homes, and ministry facilities. Through his leadership, G4N helps meet both physical and spiritual needs, creating opportunities to share the love of Christ while strengthening local communities.

Raymond’s heart is to serve others, support local churches, and use his skills to advance God’s Kingdom one project at a time.
